Tucson Medical Center is seeking a Cook II – Line Cook for the day shift. You will follow recipes, prep lists, and prepare ingredients to assemble dishes for tickets and orders. Maintaining a clean work station and proper food storage are essential.

You will also ensure safety and sanitation guidelines are followed, operate standard kitchen equipment, and support kitchen teammates to deliver quality meals to patients and guests. Prior line cook experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: Three years cooking experience.
• Licensure/Certification: Serv Safe Food Handler preferred.
• Knowledge/skills: Menu creation and cooking principles.
• Ability to read and interpret recipes and safety rules.

Responsabilités

• Follow prep lists to plan duties.
• Measure ingredients and seasonings for cooking.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping vegetables, and cutting meat.
• Set up workstations and ingredients for recipes.
• Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling.
• Serve food by reading tickets or taking verbal orders.
• Prepare simple dishes.
• Maintain a clean, orderly kitchen; wash dishes and sanitize surfaces.
• Store, date, and label food properly; ensure proper storage.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely (mixers, ovens, steamers).
• Alert supervisor to equipment or supply issues.
• Maintain sanitary levels in food prep and handling.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
