Job summary

Tucson Medical Center is seeking an entry-level Food Service Associate I Per Diem to assist in food preparation, delivery and sanitation across retail and patient areas. You will contribute to patient comfort by assembling salads and plates per dietary guidelines, portioning meals, and maintaining sanitary conditions throughout the kitchen and service areas.

The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to safety protocols, customer service, and teamwork in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits excellent customer service with patients, visitors and staff.
• Prepares salad and sandwich plates per recipes and diet restrictions.
• Accurately measures ingredients and prepares according to guidelines.
• Sets up patient tray line and stations with dishes, foods and condiments.
• Accurately portions entrees, starches, vegetables for patients and customers.
• Maintains sanitation in prep, storage and serving areas and disposes of trash.
• Uses kitchen equipment ( grinders, slicers, mixers, blenders, dishwashers) and ensures cleanliness of utensils.
• Stores, labels and dates foods; preps and transports food carts.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
