Job summary

Illinois Heartland Library System (IHLS) is seeking a full-time Courier Driver to support member libraries across central and southern Illinois, delivering books, materials and equipment along a daily route. The role involves sorting, loading/unloading, and safe driving with a focus on excellent customer service.

The position is a full-time day shift (40 hours/week, 4 days). Starting pay is $17.72 per hour, with benefits including PTO, health/dental/vision, IMRF retirement, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-year driver’s license required.
• Must be 25 years of age or older to be on corporate auto-insurance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver books, library materials, and equipment to and from member libraries on a prescribed daily route.
• Sort and load/unload library materials as needed.
• Follow safety, traffic laws and proper lifting procedures.
