Job summary

Alter Metal Recycling in Davenport, IA is seeking a Lead Person for the Metal Recycling plant on a day shift (12-hour). You will supervise 10-12 staff, ensure break schedules, and fill in for supervisors as needed.

Responsibilities include operating mobile equipment, handling downtime coverage, data collection at weigh-outs, and leading cleaning during maintenance hours. Hours are Monday–Friday, 4:00am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of learning and performing all job functions of the plant.
• During breaks the Lead rotates employees to ensure coverage.
• Must be able to operate mobile equipment and fill in as necessary.
• During absences must be able to work positions to provide coverage.
• Lead non-maintenance group during unplanned downtime.
• Ensure radios are signed out and accounted for.
• Responsible for data collection during weigh outs.
• Lead the cleaning team during maintenance cleaning hours.
• Must have good communication skills and be a positive team player.

• Ensure employee break schedule is followed.
