Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to support multiple laboratory departments. You will assist with collection, processing, and reporting of tests needed for patient diagnosis and treatment, ensuring accurate handling of specimens and patient data.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of HHS Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Laboratory experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Support laboratory departments by assisting in collection, processing, analysis and reporting of tests.
• Ensure specimens and patient information are handled accurately and efficiently.
• Contribute to reliable test processes and timely turnaround, data integrity and safety compliance.
