Job summary

Diversified Maintenance is seeking a Janitor to perform all-purpose cleaning and preservation of assigned areas inside client buildings within the South Elgin area. The role offers consistent, scheduled hours and a starting rate of $16 per hour, with shifts running Sunday through Saturday from 6am to 11am totaling about 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities include floor care, restroom upkeep, waste disposal, window cleaning, carpet maintenance, and stock replenishment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or minimum six months janitorial experience.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean all floor surfaces including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and other objects.
• Clean, monitor and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entrance areas.
• Empty trash cans and manage disposal; use of a compactor for certain materials.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and equipment.
• Spot clean carpets; assist in carpet extractions and shampooing.
• Replenish paper products and sanitary supplies.
• Follow housekeeping schedule and operate heavy cleaning equipment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the scope of work or customer needs.
