Job summary

The Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, NY seeks a Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain the Physical Plant, including water, steam, HVAC and power systems. Supports after-hours repairs and conducts routine inspections.

Works in a busy hospital environment with rotating shifts and on-site responsibilities. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with trade schooling or 2 years HVAC/boiler experience and City licensure for White Plains.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Trade school graduate or 2 years experience on boilers and HVAC equipment.
• Applicable City of White Plains licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Makes regular rounds for equipment inspections on all three shifts, reads gauges and meters to determine condition of equipment and mechanical rooms.
• Inspects and tests fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems and fire pumps, and hydrants, replaces and repairs as needed.
• Performs preventive maintenance on all HVAC Systems and related components, controls, relays, etc.
• Operates boiler systems, checks water levels, steam pipes, oil supply and psi, low water cutoffs and limit controls.
• Maintains and operates absorbers, takes readings to determine operating condition of units.
• Reports major equipment malfunctions or unusual conditions to Supervisors.
