Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking an experienced Cook to support patient meals and facility dining. You will prepare foods according to standard recipes, ensure high quality, and maintain HACCP records, while complying with sanitation and safety standards across patient and guest services.

Responsibilities include cooking a range of items, portioning, labeling, recording production data, and helping plan schedules to meet service times. Prior experience and strong interpersonal skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred, but not required
• 3+ years experience in food preparation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Braise, sauté, broil, boil, stew, steam, bake and grill to proper times and temperatures.
• Prepare entrees, soups, sauces and vegetables; log production records.
• Assemble ingredients; portion, label and date for storage or transport.
• Maintain HACCP handling, storage and delivery for safety.
• Record HACCP and production records.
• Check food during service to avoid delays.
• Plan cooking and prep schedules to meet service times.
• Adhere to quality standards for appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation.
• Store leftovers properly and reuse where appropriate.
• Complete cleaning and attend department trainings to maintain standards.
