Job summary

Jefferson Health in Turnersville, NJ is seeking a Cook to prepare foods for patients and guests in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Lead Cook and Food Service supervisors, you will follow standard recipes, maintain HACCP records and ensure safety and quality at all times.

This full-time role covers day and evening shifts; you will braise, sauté, grill and plate entrees, soups, sauces and vegetables while recording production data and supporting cost controls.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• 3+ years previous experience in food preparation required.

Responsibilities

• Competently braise, sauté, broil, boil, stew, steam, bake and grill to proper cooking time and temperature.
• Prepare and portion entrees, soups, sauces and vegetables according to recipes and production orders.
• Record usage on production records to ensure correct preparation and cost control.
• Assemble ingredients, prepare recipes, portion, label and date for storage or transport.
• Maintain HACCP and production records; ensure proper handling, storage and delivery of food and supplies.
• Check on food during service to prevent delays and ensure timely service.
• Plan cooking and prepping schedules so items are ready on time.
• Store leftovers safely and reuse appropriately.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain sanitation standards in cooking and serving areas.
