Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking a Head Custodian I (Elementary) to supervise custodial staff, oversee daily cleaning operations, and ensure a safe, clean school environment at Zephyr Cove Elementary School in Nevada. The role reports to Facilities Supervisor and involves 12-month terms with a day/night shift structure.

The ideal candidate has lead custodial experience, plus a Nevada driver's license, and will maintain records while coordinating maintenance tasks and safety for students

Qualifications

• Two (2) years progressively responsible experience in custodial work including some lead or supervisory responsibility.
• High school graduation; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform this work.
• Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Nevada driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage the School Districts cleanliness standards set by the Facilities Supervisor.
• Assist in the selection, assignment, scheduling, and training of custodial staff.
• Plan and oversee daily maintenance and repair activities; maintain a high standard of cleanliness safety, and efficiency.
• Inspect the cleanliness of classrooms, offices, halls, and other areas; submit monthly reports.
• Monitor attendance and punctuality of custodial staff.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment and fuel; requisition replacements.
• Promote safety, health, and comfort of students and staff.
• Assist with snow removal and keep entrances clear.
• Coordinate custodial activities for special events as requested.
