Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc in California is seeking a dock associate to move freight between docks and trailers. The role requires operating forklift and pallet jack, verifying freight documents, and securing cargo for loading onto trailers.

The shift runs M-F from 4:00 to 10:00. The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18, and ideally possess prior warehousing or forklift experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing/freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math; good communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry freight up to 100 pounds and work in dock environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description and secure freight inside trailers.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight and complete required reports.
• Assist customers with freight documentation and perform hostling duties if needed.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies; perform other duties as required.
