Job summary

RRD is seeking a forklift operator for 1st Shift (6:00 AM–2:00 PM, Mon–Fri, with some weekends and overtime) in Wisconsin. You will move finished product for shipping, supply the Manufacturing Department with materials, and stage products for shipping.

Qualifications

• Must know forklift load dimensions and lift capacity.
• Identify doorway/aisle clearances for forklift passage.
• Know storage area layout to place items without detailed instructions.
• Skilled at moving forklifts in tight spaces.
• Advanced skills compared to Hoist Operator 1.
• Proficient in starting, stopping, and maneuvering forklifts.
• Able to assess load lift feasibility and balance.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment to move finished product for shipping or storage
• Supplies Manufacturing Department with materials as needed.
• Stages product to be moved or shipped.
• Racks unused supplies and maintains an inventory of type, amount and location of items
• Transports and process manufacturing paper by-products
• Empties trash hoppers and performs other housekeeping duties as needed
• Performs routine daily inspections on hoist and assures maintenance needs are reported
• Battery service duties such as inspecting, recharging and replacing batteries of electrical leads and battery poles and lubricating moving parts
• May include changing LP/Propane
• Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out-tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
