Schupan & Sons is seeking a Dispatcher in Kalamazoo, MI. This full-time, onsite role coordinates drivers, routes, and schedules to ensure timely shipments. You will oversee equipment dispatch, use routing software, and monitor performance across the fleet.

You will interact with CDL A drivers, customers, and maintenance teams, escalating issues as needed and maintaining strong communication throughout shifts. A hands-on, detail‑oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of truck maintenance.
• Working understanding of DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing demands.
• Ability to resolve difficult or emotional situations and solicit customer feedback.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dispatch operations and pairing of tractors, trailers, and containers.
• Use routing software to assign loads and track fleet movement.
• Monitor driver progress, times, and route updates.
• Respond to delays, breakdowns, changes, or weather impacts.
• Optimize routes to increase efficiency.
• Support Transportation Operations Manager with performance feedback.
• Act as shift lead and escalate issues when needed.
• Communicate load details professionally with CDL A drivers.
• Serve as liaison between customers, dispatch, and drivers.
• Resolve shipment status inquiries and coordinate with maintenance teams.
