Job summary

Schupan is seeking a Dispatcher for first shift in Kalamazoo, MI. You will coordinate drivers, loads, routes, and schedules, ensuring efficient dispatch operations and customer satisfaction. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

You will interact with CDL A drivers, customers, and internal teams, monitor route and load progress, and escalate issues as needed. The position offers competitive pay, benefits, and scheduled weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of truck maintenance.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment, manage competing demands, and handle delays or unexpected events.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying temps.

Responsibilities

• Oversee equipment dispatch to pair tractors, trailers, and containers.
• Use dispatching software to assign loads and track fleet movement.
• Monitor driver progress, delivery times, and route updates.
• Respond to delays, breakdowns, or weather impacts promptly.
• Act as shift lead and escalate issues to management as needed.
• Communicate load details to CDL A drivers clearly.
• Resolve shipment status inquiries from customers.
• Coordinate with scale room and maintenance for transfers and preventive work.
