Job summary

MACOM seeks a Shift Supervisor for the Front-end of Week, Day Shift in Lowell, MA. This role oversees 12-hour shifts, coordinates technicians, and drives safety, quality, and on-time delivery during a compressed work week.

The position requires strong leadership, manufacturing experience, and collaboration with Fab teams to maintain continuous production. Off-shift hours may be required to match business needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years in a front-line lead, supervisor, or shift coordination role.
• Ability to work off shift hours as business needs require.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred; additional hands-on manufacturing leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Without a college degree, preferred qualification is 10+ years of relevant manufacturing experience with demonstrated front-line leadership, team coordination, and shift execution responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Support Fab performance metrics and daily operating discipline, including Safety, Throughput, Cycle Time, Yield, and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with Fab Engineering, Equipment, Quality, and Facilities teams to resolve daily production issues.
• Escalate production risks and align with Engineering, Business Units, Planning, and Production Control to meet commitments.
• Monitor WIP movement and support on-time delivery against scheduled targets.
• Assist with staffing, onboarding, training coordination, and adherence to company policies.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and performance-focused shift culture.
• Support development of technician bench strength via approved training plans.
• Track training progress and onboard new employees effectively.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in procedures, yield, and systems.
• Contribute to productivity improvements and cost reduction initiatives across shifts.
• Ensure 5S and Lean practices are sustained in assigned areas.
• Support quality improvement actions with cross-functional teams.
• Assist in implementing standard work, protocols, and operating practices across shifts.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to address customer-related needs.
