Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. in Mount Juliet, TN is seeking a driver coordinator to orient new drivers and assign work, ensuring smooth flow of vehicles and accurate logging of stock numbers. The role involves supervising daily van operations and coordinating driver movements to meet schedules.

Responsibilities include maintaining vehicle conditions, enforcing safety procedures, communicating with supervisors, and guiding staff to meet performance metrics. Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED plus 3 years of related work experience, OR any degree or certification above a High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year of related work experience, OR 5 years of related work experience
• Safe driver's license required

Responsibilities

• Orient and instruct new drivers on duties and assist in assigning work
• Communicate with supervisor to assure proper flow of vehicles and maintain log of stock numbers for each vehicle moved and its lot location
• Communicate schedules and assignments to crew members
• Manage vans and transport drivers to locations, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off
• Shuttle employees to and from auxiliary parking lots on sale days and transport to remote sites
• Pick-up and drop-off employees and other personnel to/from the Auction, parking lots, dealerships, and customer locations
• Perform daily maintenance and routine checks of the van and service the vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories
• Follow safety procedures and support Safety Excellence activities
• Review work volumes with manager and plan staffing to ensure efficiency and quality service
• Lead the team at the location by modeling Cox/Manheim values and ensuring respectful treatment of all employees
• Enforce company policies relating to conduct
• Perform other duties as assigned
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate
