Job summary

Skybox Critical Operations is seeking a skilled Critical Facilities Technician to join our team in Lancaster, Texas. As a CFT2, you will play a vital role in ensuring uninterrupted operation of our cutting-edge data centers, leading troubleshooting efforts and mentoring junior technicians.

This position requires a strong technical background in electrical and mechanical systems, hands-on problem solving, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data center experience or related field.
• Advanced understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure and best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to mentor and train others.
• Electrical/Mechanical certifications are highly desired.
• Ability to work overtime and 12-hour shifts, including days, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to critical data center equipment, including HVAC, electrical systems, generators, fire suppression, etc.
• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate equipment failures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and Maintain SOPs: Create and update procedures for maintenance and emergency response.
• Manage Vendor Relationships: Oversee contractors and vendors, ensuring safety and standards compliance.
• Mentor and Train: Guide junior technicians and develop their technical skills.
• Conduct Facility Assessments: Regularly assess the facility for risks and compliance.
• Maintain Documentation: Document maintenance activities and incidents in CMMS.
• Champion Safety: Lead safety training and promote safety protocols.
• Embrace Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements and operational excellence.
• Participate in On-Call Rotation: Be available for emergencies outside normal hours.
