Job summary

Stream Data Centers in Garland, TX, is seeking a Critical Engineering Technician to perform hands-on operations and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems in a high-risk data center environment.

You will read blueprints, execute preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor building management systems, write MOPs/EOPs, and coordinate with vendors and the Critical Facilities Manager. A 24/7 shift-capable, safety-focused candidate is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3+ years in critical environment operations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, EPA regulations.
• HVAC and cooling infrastructure experience.
• Knowledge of fire protection and security systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating vendor work.
• Willing to work 12-hour shifts and be on call.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work in strict accordance with Stream Data Centers procedures and instructions.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and resolve equipment issues.
• Oversee safe operation and maintenance of critical systems, including 3rd party contractors.
• Disable and enable fire alarm control panels and systems.
• Create and execute CMMS work orders for preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Coordinate material orders with the Critical Facilities Manager.
• Finalize work orders and document in CMMS.
• Ensure preventive/corrective maintenance records are complete.
• Cover 24/7 onsite shifts during unplanned emergencies.
• Respond to on-call issues and escalate as needed.
• Operate BMS, analyze data, and ensure proper system function.
• Analyze power and cooling efficiency and maintain PUE.
• Perform RCCA analysis and report to management.
• Comply with departmental policies and safety procedures.
