Job summary

Rutgers University Correctional Health Care seeks a Part Time UCHC Staff Nurse for Edna Mahan Correctional Facility in Clinton, NJ. The nurse applies the nursing process to address ambulatory care needs, collaborating with health care professionals and security officers in a correctional setting.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, NJ RN license, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• License to practice in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR Certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required. Must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet physiological, psychosocial and emotional needs of the inmate-patient.
• Utilizes effective communication skills by demonstrating respect, concern and courtesy in all interpersonal relationships.
• Uses current knowledge to promote a safe environment for providing health care to inmate-patients.
