Job summary

South Bay Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled Set-up Machinist to join our high-precision shop in Fremont, CA. You will set up and operate CNC milling machines, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

Responsibilities include documenting processes, maintaining a safe workspace, and troubleshooting issues with tooling and programs. A minimum of five years in horizontal milling with exposure to Matsuura or FANUC controls is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read drawings and translate engineering designs.
• Demonstrated ability to inspect own parts with precision tools.
• Proficiency with measuring equipment and inspection practices.
• Ability to set up and run multiple CNC milling machines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines according to prints and specs.
• Document processes and improvements to setup or operation.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment; perform shop maintenance.
• Troubleshoot tooling, material, program, equipment, and part spec issues.
• Identify changes to part specs to improve machinability.
