Job summary

The Mount Sinai Morningside per diem Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others.

Delivers patient care by applying the nursing process, assesses needs, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, educates patients and families, and participates in charge and care coordination to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State (RN).
• BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with appropriate supervision and progression.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care by applying the nursing process and evidence-based practices.
• Assesses patient needs and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to plan and evaluate care.
• Educates patients and families about plan of care, transition of care, and health promotion.
• Performs charge nurse duties and coordinates resources to ensure safe, cost-effective care.
