MRCI in Mankato, MN is seeking a Day Service Specialist – On Call to support individuals with developmental disabilities through community-based, person-centered day services. This on-call role provides coverage for absences and travels within the service area using a company vehicle to transport clients.

You will plan and implement curriculum aligned with DHS Day Support Services standards, coordinate community activities, communicate with clients and partners, and document progress using

• High School diploma/equivalent or Associate’s degree + 2 years related experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree in related field + 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (ability to drive up to 1.5 hours).

Job Type: On-Call (weekday/daytime shifts, no nights or weekends)

About the Role
MRCI is seeking a Day Service Specialist – On Call to support individuals with developmental disabilities through community-based, person-centered day services. This role provides coverage for absences and assists teams across MRCI service areas. Starting Pay: $18.20-21.84/hour based on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement program curriculum aligned with DHS Day Support Services standards and person-centered practices.
• Plan and coordinate individualized, community-based activities for program participants.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners to promote integration opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with clients, teams, funders, and community members.
• Monitor program operations for efficiency and recommend improvements.
• Travel within service areas to provide coverage and transport clients in a company vehicle.
• Provide direct support to clients, including personal care, medication administration, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Utilize technology for timely communication and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma/equivalent or Associate’s degree + 2 years related experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field + 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in computer-based office software.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (ability to drive up to 1.5 hours).
• Must pass DHS background check.
• Sales or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions.
• Transporting clients to community sites required.
