Community-Residences in Warwick, RI is seeking a Part-time Day Program Instructor to support developmentally disabled clients in Day Program facilities. The role emphasizes safety, client-focused learning, and adherence to individualized care plans.

The position requires partnership with the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans, monitor client well-being, and assist with daily living activities, transportation, and community outings as needed.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in related Human Services area or an Associate's degree in a related field and one year experience is preferred.
• Minimum requirement for employment is a high school diploma or GED.
• Possess good to excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate thoroughness and follow-through on daily work assignments.
• Display motivation and interest in improving quality of life for population served.
• Demonstrate and maintain an optimistic attitude, patience, and compassion for and with the population served.

Responsabilités

• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of clients in Day Program facilities.
• Follow allowable physical handling procedures to maintain safety for staff and clients.
• Create learning environments and develop strategies to support clients in daily living and independence.
• Record data on strategies, progress, and barriers; maintain treatment plans and related documentation.
• Monitor medical, physical, and behavioral changes; report promptly to supervisors and complete incident reports as required.
• Assist with meal preparation and follow dietary plans when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the program, properties, and vehicles.
• Respect clients' privacy per confidentiality policies.
• Participate in required trainings and meetings.
• Accompany clients on community outings, ensuring safety and compliance with plans.
• Manage petty cash and client funds according to policy.
• Familiarize with CRI policies and procedures and adhere to them.
