Job summary

Arc of Greater New Haven, Inc. in Milford, CT is seeking a Day Program Specialist/Direct Support Professional to support adults with IDD in daily activities and community outings. This part-time role runs Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m.

to 2:45 p.m., with no nights, weekends, or holidays on-call. You'll assist with daily routines, mobility, and personal care, help participants learn new skills, and document progress in agency systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Connecticut driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED and Medication Administration certifications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Comfortable with computers and basic software.
• Patient, compassionate, and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with IDD in daily routines, meals, mobility and personal care.
• Lead engaging activities aligned with each person’s program plan.
• Support community outings and events to enhance independence.
• Document progress using agency systems.
• Maintain safety and respond calmly in various situations.
