Job summary

Community-Residences in Shelton, CT is seeking a Day Program Instructor to support developmentally disabled clients in our day program facilities. The role is full-time and requires hands-on engagement to promote health, safety and independent daily living skills.

You will implement individualized care plans, document progress, assist with meals, and transport clients as needed in accordance with policies. A driver’s license is required; state regulations may apply.

Qualifications

• Good to excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate thoroughness and follow-through on daily work assignments.
• Motivation and interest in improving quality of life for population served.
• Valid CT Driver’s License; PSL may be required depending on transport vehicle; must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of developmentally disabled clients in Day Program facilities.
• Maintain and document treatment plans and client progress; record data and report barriers.
• Assist with meals and maintain appearance and upkeep of the program and vehicles.
• Transport clients for community activities following safety procedures and state laws.
• Uphold client privacy and adhere to confidentiality policies.
• Attend trainings and meetings; participate in ongoing staff development.
