Job summary

Arc of Greater New Haven, Inc. is seeking a Day Program Specialist / Direct Support Professional in North Haven, CT. This full/part-time role (shifts during the day) supports adults with IDD to learn, connect, and grow, with a schedule that keeps evenings and weekends free.

You will help participants with daily activities, accompany them on community outings, and document progress. No prior experience required; CPR/First Aid certifications may be provided. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Connecticut driver's license with clean driving record preferred.
• Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, and Medication Administration certifications.

Responsibilities

• Cheer participants on as they master new skills or reach goals.
• Take participants on community outings and events.
• Support daily routines including meals, personal care, and mobility with dignity and respect.
• Lead engaging activities tailored to each participant's program plan.
• Document progress using agency systems.
