Job summary

Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago is seeking a Day Program Specialist to assess, develop, and implement programming for participants, including job readiness, independent living, education, and training needs.

You will monitor progress, maintain records, and collaborate with families and funding sources; participate in team meetings and community resources development to support participants’ goals.

Qualifications

• Two years of college education or experience equivalency or equivalent work experience.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting insurance criteria; own vehicle or reliable transportation.
• Obtain and maintain first aid/CPR and Medication Management certification.
• Work experience in a recreational or human service field.

Responsibilities

• Assess, develop, and implement programming for participants, including job readiness, independent living, education, training needs, and support needs.
• Maintain accurate case file records per agency, CARF, and contract requirements; monitor attendance and progress toward goals.
• Provide direct support with activities, assess needs, strengths and interests; develop person-centered Individual Plans with input from participants and stakeholders.
• Attend, organize, and participate in interdisciplinary staffing and team meetings; build relationships with parents, caregivers, and funding sources.
• Assist in developing community resources to improve communication, socialization, daily living, community integration, and recreation/leisure activities.
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness and stocked outing bag; maintain van logs and comply with safety training.
• Engage in project and change management; work as part of teams on department projects; adapt to change.
• Demonstrate problem-solving with supervision; identify root causes, interpret data, resolve issues.
• Apply fundamental professional principles; comply with established procedures.
• Serve as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community; participate in volunteer opportunities.
