The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD in Houston, Texas is hiring a Day Program Instructor for its IDD division. Under the TxHmL Day Program Coordinator, the instructor renders daily habilitation and socialization services, provides direct care in day programs, and supports community integration.
You will maintain records per agency guidelines, work with a multidisciplinary team, and may transport consumers as needed. A flexible schedule, including weekends, is required.

Under supervision of the TxHmL Day Program Coordinator, the Day Program Instructor 1 renders daily habilitation/individualized skills & Socialization service delivery in accordance with the definitions of the state Agency service guidelines and includes the specified elements. Provides direct care for consumers served through day programs. Provides support activities that support community integration. Responsible for reviewing and maintaining documentation in accordance with state Agency guidelines. Organizes data and tracks submission of unit documentation. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends. Works as a member of a multidisciplinary care team to provide assistance to consumers. Performs duties with maximum level of supervision.
