Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD in Houston, Texas is hiring a Day Program Instructor for its IDD division. Under the TxHmL Day Program Coordinator, the instructor renders daily habilitation and socialization services, provides direct care in day programs, and supports community integration.

You will maintain records per agency guidelines, work with a multidisciplinary team, and may transport consumers as needed. A flexible schedule, including weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years related experience and ability to transport consumers.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor service delivery for consumers on assigned caseload.
• Apprise Administration of available community resources.
• Provide consumer transportation if required.
• Document and maintain records on consumers.
• Communicate progress to the treatment team.
• Document all consumer contacts and report incidents within agency timeframes.
• Meet required education and training per HHSC and Harris Center guidelines.
• Respect multicultural differences in all duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
