Job summary

Sevita is seeking a Day Program Assistant in Egg Harbor City, NJ to provide essential support and companionship to clients with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries. The role emphasizes safety, communication, and patient care in a community-based setting.

Starting pay is $16.25/hour with experience-based increases; the position is full-time, on-site, with benefits and training. You will work Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., contributing to daily activities and client well-being.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills are required to support clients and collaborate with teammates.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in human services or caregiving is preferred.
• Valid, non-probationary driver’s license with no restrictions
• Minimum age: 21 years
• Successful background check clearance
• Ability and willingness to safely bend and lift to assist clients

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Transport clients to appointments utilizing company vehicles
• Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping
• Support wheelchair assistance and safe transportation
• Provide companionship and meaningful conversation
• Ensure overall safety and well-being of clients
• Use proper lifting and bending techniques to physically support clients
