Job summary

LOT Management is seeking a part-time Day Porter to support our properties at 6941 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, CA 92009. The position offers Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, totaling 15 hours weekly, at $18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include cleaning, trash pickup, window cleaning, reporting repairs, and maintaining safety equipment. Ideal candidates have janitorial experience, strong communication, punctuality, and reliable transportation; ability to stand for long periods;

Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial/cleaning preferred.
• Strong communication and reliability are required.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Ability to work independently and safely.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Must meet physical requirements: walking, stairs, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Pick up trash and empty receptacles.
• Sweep, mop, dust, wipe surfaces and clean restrooms.
• Clean exterior windows, sills, doors.
• Remove debris and spills to maintain cleanliness.
• Walk the property to inspect public areas for cleanliness.
• Notify supervisor for repairs as needed.
• Wear safety equipment provided for tasks.

Day Porter Qualifications

• Janitorial experience preferred.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Punctual and dependable.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Meet the physical requirements: constantly walking, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, reaching over the shoulder, lifting, and carrying.
• Constant weight - 1-35 lbs. Occasional weight - 36-50 lbs.

Day Porter General Function

• Pick up trash as needed and empty trash receptacles.
• Perform cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning cobwebs, wiping down surfaces, restroom cleaning, etc.
• Clean exterior surfaces of windows, windowsills, and doors.
• Remove and/or clean up any debris or soil, such as stickers, chewing gum, coffee spills, graffiti, etc.
• Continuously walk the property to inspect all public areas for cleanliness.
• Notify the supervisor in case there is a need for repairs.
• Required to always wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which includes gloves, goggles, a safety vest, and any other safety equipment that the task requires.

Requirements

The Ideal Day Porter:

• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to identify and manage priorities.
• Ability to complete the physical requirements of the job.
• Day porter/janitor/custodian experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Constant need (100% during production time) to be on foot.
• Ability to bend/stoop/squat/kneel.
• Climb the stairs.
• Push, pull, reach over the shoulder.
• Grasp and grip.
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
