Job summary

ARGU INC in South Frederick, MD is seeking a male Day Porter to keep common areas clean, safe, and welcoming for employees and visitors alike. This role is part-time with morning hours and a schedule that covers Monday–Thursday 7:00 am to 11:00 am and Friday 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.

You will perform routine cleaning, stock supplies, and handle trash and spills with professionalism. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, monitoring high-traffic areas, and maintaining entryways.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in janitorial, custodial, or porter services preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with minimal supervision needed.
• Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, courteous demeanor.
• Must be able to lift up to 30–50 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of common areas, restrooms, lobbies, and hallways.
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and other restroom essentials as needed.
• Remove trash and recyclables from designated areas and replace liners.
• Respond promptly to spills, messes, and other immediate cleaning needs.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
• Monitor and maintain the appearance of entryways, elevators, and high-traffic areas.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding supply needs or facility maintenance issues.
