Job summary

Basic Job Functions:

The role of the day mechanic is to lead mechanical projects from design to commissioning, manage project safety, costs,and contractors. The day mechanic will assist in preventative and predictive maintenance of equipment and provide mechanical support to the maintenace and production teams.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Work schedule will be 5 days per week on day shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years of prior mechanical experience in a manufacturing facility
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior paint line or galvanizing line experience
• Knowledge of strip transport and bridle theory
