MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries in St. Louis is seeking an energetic Day Care Assistant Teacher to join our daycare team. The role supports our mission and embraces our values of diversity, integrity, professionalism, and respect.

The position requires at least 6 months of supervised daycare experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to follow state regulations. This is a full-time, on-site hourly role with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months of experience working as a supervised Assistant Teacher in a day care or school setting is required.
• Knowledge of basic child needs and sensitivity to the capabilities, interests and problems of children in day care.

Responsibilities

• Helps develop and implement lesson plans.
• Follows State Regulations.
• Follows policies and procedures as outlined in employee and job manuals.
• Creates a positive and inviting environment for children.
• Assists with the development and measurement of individualized goals for children.
• Greets parents, asks appropriate questions, and provides information.
• Participates in children's play time both indoors and outdoors.
• Follows classroom schedule to keep activities timely and organized.
• Completes Opening, Nap time and Closing procedures daily to keep spaces clean and organized.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Completes the Opening Procedures, Nap time Procedures and Closing Procedures on a daily basis so that classrooms and common areas remain clean and organized.
• Other duties as assigned.
