Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill is seeking a Day Care Assistant Teacher to support Springfield Daycare with lesson plans, child-focused activities, and a safe, welcoming environment. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication with families, and adhering to daily procedures for a smooth classroom flow.

The position requires at least a HS diploma or GED and 6 months of supervised daycare experience, with flexible scheduling and a mission-driven workplace. Benefits are included for eligible hours.

Qualifications

• Must be 18-years of age with a High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months of experience working as a supervised Assistant Teacher in a day care or school setting is required.
• Knowledge of the basic child needs and sensitivity to children's day care needs.

Responsibilities

• Helps develop and implement lesson plans.
• Follows State Regulations.
• Creates a positive and inviting environment for children.
• Assists with the development and measurement of individualized goals for children.
• Greets parents, asks appropriate questions, and provides information.
• Includes themselves in children's play time indoors and outdoors.
• Follows classroom schedule for timely activities.
• Completes opening, nap, and closing procedures daily to keep spaces organized.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Includes themselves in children's play time both indoors and outdoors.
• Follows schedule for classroom so that activities are timely and organized.
• Completes the Opening Procedures, Nap time Procedures and Closing Procedures on a daily basis so that classrooms and common areas remain clean and organized.
• Other duties as assigned.
