Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Day Camp Site Lead to support day-to-day camp operations under the Youth Development Director. You will supervise staff, manage behavioral concerns, oversee rosters, and maintain parent communication for a safe, engaging program.

Responsibilities include planning activities, ensuring supplies, and upholding program standards, with supervision of counselors and campers.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High school degree in progress or completed or GED.
• 2+ years of experience working with school-age children in a group setting.
• Preferred: minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a day camp setting.
• Evidence of current successful completion of CPR/First Aid/BLS or complete within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must pass criminal background check, drug test, MVR check, and other background screening as required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, plan, organize, and implement a structured program for school-age children in a learning environment.
• Ensure all administrative and program decisions follow YMCA Metro Atlanta standards.
• Carry out daily program tasks related to the position's scope and responsibility.
• Provide leadership to counselors and campers within camp groups.
• Ensure counselors and campers have all supplies and equipment needed for activities.
• Stay updated on current issues regarding day camp programs.
• Promote, monitor, evaluate, and ensure smooth day camp operations with high service quality.
• Maintain branch and association certifications (CPR, YMCA orientation, branch emergency procedures).
• Assist in all aspects of the YMCA and its community.
• Maintain and report incident/accident paperwork.
• Adhere to Keeping Kids Safe Policy.
• Coordinate lunch and snacks on time and supervise dropoff/pickup protocols.
