Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a skilled ETL Developer with expertise in IBM DataStage and DB2 to design and implement data integration solutions. The role requires working across teams to deliver robust ETL jobs and contribute to automation and process improvements.

Responsibilities include developing batch flows with DataStage, participating in testing, and maintaining documentation. A B.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred, with experience in Unix and SQL."

Qualifications

• Expertise in ETL development using DataStage and related technologies.
• Strong SQL skills and DB2 knowledge for data manipulation.
• Experience with UNIX environments and basic scripting.
• Ability to design, develop and test ETL jobs independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop ETL batch flows using DataStage and ensure quality through unit/CI testing.
• Collaborate with teams across geographies to implement best practices in job development, testing, and deployment.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve internal processes and procedures.
• Document technical solutions and maintain internal documentation.

Job Responsibilities

• Expertise in IBM DataStage version 11.5 or above,DB2, Unix and SQL.


• Proficiency in SQL or another relevant language.


• Should be able to work independently on ETL development project including, design and implementation.


• Collaborate with team members to implement best practices for job development, testing, and deployment. Identify improvements and automation opportunities for our internal processes and procedures.


• Author and maintain internal documentations.


• Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner.


• Experience with DataStage cloud implementation using IBM Cloud Pak is nice to have.


• Work with the architects, developers, offshore, business and technology stakeholders in a complex environment across different geographic locations.


• Ability to champion pragmatic, strategic technology alternatives which deliver short term results while contributing to long-term strategic direction.


• Experience in Waterfall and/or Agile Methodologies.


• Self-motivated Individual Contributor.


• Understand stakeholder’s expectations and objectives


• Participate/host calls independently with onshore technology teams


• Should be able to understand requirement specs and develop the code


• Participate in requirement gathering meetings and proactively clarify doubts


• Suggest technical solutions


• Develop ETL batch flows using DataStage


• Involve in unit testing, Component Integration testing , System Integration testing and implementation


• Proactively track tasks to closure


• Own the task assigned and keep all the stakeholders informed about the status


• Support the code install releases and support post deployment control phase Education
