Job summary

Energy Transfer seeks a Lead IT Specialist to own and operate enterprise datacenter infrastructure, focusing on HPE compute/storage platforms and associated automation. You will drive provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle governance across datacenter environments including ETDC, BCC, and field sites.

The role requires strong experience with HPE storage, NetApp, Pure Storage, Cohesity, and SAN fabrics, plus advisory work on acquisitions, migrations, and integration efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of relevant job‑related infrastructure experience
  • Strong experience with HPE standalone servers and HPE blade systems (primary compute platforms)
  • Strong experience administering and supporting HPE storage arrays
  • Experience with datacenter integration activities related to acquisitions
  • Experience with server infrastructure procurement and lifecycle management
  • Experience with clustered server environments
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux server operating systems
  • Experience with Dell servers and storage
  • Experience with Pure Storage platforms
  • Experience with Cohesity backup and data protection solutions
  • Experience with SAN technologies, including Brocade fabric configuration and management
  • Experience with HPE OneView or similar infrastructure automation and management tools
  • Experience with SolarWinds for server and infrastructure monitoring
  • Experience with scripting and automation for standardized compute and storage deployments
  • Experience with infrastructure design, implementation, documentation, and disaster recovery
  • Ability to follow established change management guidelines and perform work during after‑hours maintenance windows

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise datacenter infrastructure services, with primary focus on HPE standalone and blade server platforms
  • Serve as the subject‑matter lead for: HPE blade systems; HPE storage arrays
  • Design, configure, and support enterprise storage, backup, and recovery platforms (HPE storage arrays, NetApp, Pure Storage, Cohesity)
  • Manage and support clustered server environments, ensuring availability, performance, and scalability
  • Support datacenter SAN and fabric technologies (Brocade SAN)
  • Lead and support datacenter integration efforts for acquisitions, including discovery, migration, standardization, and decommissioning
  • Automate server and storage deployments and configuration for converged and integrated infrastructure solutions (HPE OneView)
  • Work with IT leadership to assess business drivers and deliver fit‑for‑purpose technical solutions
  • Enhance automation and configuration management following established coding standards
  • Perform full server and storage asset lifecycle management (procurement, CMDB accuracy, inventory, annual refresh)
  • Provide performance, utilization, and capacity reporting across compute and storage platforms
  • Compile infrastructure data for annual support renewals, maintenance contracts, and licensing true‑up
  • Operate and maintain infrastructure information within SolarWinds VMAN, CM databases, Asset Management tools, and IPAM
  • Deliver IT Service Management support and participate in 24/7 on‑call rotation
  • Ability to lift computer equipment
