Job summary

Everest Consultants, Inc. seeks a Datacenter Fiber Specialist to manage and test fiber networks within Microsoft datacenters, focusing on OTDR analysis, splicing, and maintenance. This is an onsite role in Quincy, WA, with a 12+ month contract and a pay rate of $37.39 per hour on W-2.

The candidate will work up to 40 hours per week, collaborating with Microsoft engineers and third-party providers to ensure high reliability and optimal fiber network performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years experience in fiber networks or large deployments.
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check on hire and every two years thereafter.
• Strong knowledge of fiber optics, OTDR testing, and maintenance.
• Experience in fiber splicing, testing, and documentation in field service environments.
• Understanding of data center infrastructure including servers, networking, and racks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain fiber infrastructure to prevent outages and degradation.
• Perform regular fiber inspections, cleaning, and testing.
• Educate Microsoft staff on fiber maintenance and best practices.
• Coordinate fiber delivery and management with suppliers and partners.
• Oversee vendor relationships, SLAs, and on-time delivery of capacity.
• Conduct end-to-end fiber testing and generate detailed reports.
