Job summary

Trace3 is seeking a Regional Senior Principal Engineer/Enterprise Architect IV to lead discovery, architecture, and modernization across secure on-premises and hybrid datacenters. You will translate mission objectives into practical architectures for regulated, mission-critical customers, spanning compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and AI infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a customer-facing technical lead, enterprise architect, solutions architect, principal engineer, or equivalent for complex datacenter or infrastructure modernization initiatives.
• Substantive architecture experience across the modern datacenter stack: x86 compute, GPU compute, servers, HCI, storage, virtualization, containers, management platforms.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) and clustering, HA, migration considerations.
• Experience with Kubernetes and enterprise container platforms, including design and platform security.
• Strong networking knowledge for high-speed datacenter fabrics, segmentation, SDN and AI/data workloads.
• Storage and data protection across block/file/object; all-flash and scale-out architectures; DR/BOC.
• Infrastructure automation and lifecycle management (Terraform, Ansible, APIs, CI/CD, GitOps).
• Zero Trust Architecture implementation: identity, MFA, RBAC/ABAC, encryption, PKI, observability, vulnerability management.
• Hybrid-cloud design with Azure Government and GCC-High; secure connectivity and governance.
• Ability to translate discovery findings into reference architectures and actionable roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior, customer-facing technical lead for datacenter discovery, architecture, design, modernization, and solution shaping engagements.
• Lead structured workshops with executive sponsors, engineering, infrastructure, platform, cybersecurity, compliance, program-management, and application stakeholders.
• Translate mission objectives, workload requirements, performance targets, availability goals, growth expectations, and regulatory constraints into architectures.
• Develop end-to-end modern datacenter architectures spanning compute, storage, network, virtualization, containers, observability, and operational management.
• Design hybrid-cloud solutions with on-premises and Microsoft Azure Government / GCC-High, addressing identity, secure connectivity, data protection, and governance.
• Apply Zero Trust and defense-in-depth across identity, segmentation, encryption, logging, and security operations.
• Plan capacity, performance, resiliency, technology evaluation, lifecycle planning, and migration or modernization efforts.
• Produce reference architectures, designs, BOMs, implementation roadmaps, and risk registers.
• Present complex concepts to diverse audiences; lead architecture reviews and executive briefings.
