Job summary

CyberSearch is seeking a Data Center Technician - L2 to support data center operations for HPC environments. The role involves rack, stack, and cable installation of servers, storage, networking, and GPU systems, along with hardware moves, adds, and changes across the data center floor.

The ideal candidate has 2-3+ years of hands-on data center experience, is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of hands-on data center experience.
• Experience installing servers from Dell, HPE, Supermicro or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined rack environments.
• Familiarity with HPC environments and high-performance computing hardware.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack, stack, and cable installation of servers, storage, networking, and GPU systems.
• Assist with hardware moves, adds, and changes (MACs) across data center floors.
• Follow deployment runbooks and engineering documentation.
• Maintain accurate asset tracking and labeling in internal tools.
• Ensure proper airflow and cable management; verify power and cabling per standards.

Overview:

Client is seeking a Data Center Technician - L2 to support Data Center {DC} operations for customer's GPU-dense, high-performance computing environment. This role is responsible for rack, stack, and cable installation of servers, storage, networking, and GPU systems, along with hardware moves, adds, and changes across the data center floor. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. Experience supporting large-scale hardware refreshes or migrations is strong plus.

Requirements:

A. Must have 2-3+ years of hands-on data center experience with the following responsibilities such as:

• Perform rack, stack, and cable installation of servers, storage, networking, and GPU systems.
• Experience installing enterprise servers (Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or equivalent).
• Install rails, mount equipment, label assets, and ensure proper airflow and cable management.
• Connect and verify power, fiber, and copper network cabling to established data center standards.
• Assist with hardware moves, adds, and changes (MACs) across data center floors.
• Follow detailed deployment runbooks and engineering documentation.
• Conduct basic hardware validation, LED/port checks, and physical troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate asset tracking, labeling, and documentation in internal tools.
• Exposure to high-performance computing (HPC) environments.

B. Should have a Strong understanding of server and network rack layouts.

C. Should have a Strong understanding of structured cabling (fiber & copper).

D. Should have a Strong understanding of power distribution units (PDUs).

E. Ability to read rack elevation diagrams and deployment instructions.

F. Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working in confined rack environments.

G. Familiarity with ESD procedures and safe handling of sensitive hardware.

H. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
