Job summary

Largeton Group in Beaverton, OR, is seeking a hands-on data center technician to install and cable servers, storage, networking and GPU systems in a high-performance environment. You will ensure airflow, cable management, and proper labeling while following runbooks and engineering docs.

Ideal candidates have recent data center experience, knowledge of rack layouts, structured cabling, PDUs, and can lift up to 50 lbs.

• Strong understanding of server/network rack layouts, structured cabling and PDUs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and follow precise instructions.
• Experience in hyperscale or GPU-dense data centers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out rack, stack, and cable installation of servers, storage, networking, and GPU systems in a high-performance computing environment.
• Install rails, mount equipment, and label assets with proper airflow and cable management.
• Connect and verify power, fiber, and copper network cabling per data center standards.
• Assist with hardware moves, adds, and changes (MACs) across the data center floor.
• Follow detailed deployment runbooks and engineering documentation for installations and migrations.
• Maintain accurate asset tracking, labeling, and documentation using internal tools.
• Collaborate with data center engineers and network teams during deployments and migrations.
• Adhere strictly to ESD, safety, and security protocols for all tasks.
• Support decommissioning and physical removal of end-of-life hardware.

• Install rails, mount equipment, and label assets while ensuring proper airflow and cable management.
• Connect and verify power, fiber, and copper network cabling per data center standards.
• Assist with hardware moves, adds, and changes (MACs) across the data center floor.
• Follow detailed deployment runbooks and engineering documentation for installations and migrations.
• Conduct basic hardware validation, LED/port checks, and physical troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate asset tracking, labeling, and documentation using internal tools.
• Collaborate with data center engineers and network teams during deployments and migrations.
• Adhere strictly to ESD, safety, and security protocols for all tasks.
• Support decommissioning and physical removal of end-of-life hardware.
• Required: Recent hands-on data center experience, strong understanding of server/network rack layouts, structured cabling, and PDUs; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and follow precise instructions.
• Preferred: Experience in hyperscale or GPU-dense data centers, exposure to HPC environments, knowledge of hot/cold aisle containment, and familiarity with basic Linux commands.
