Job summary

Merkle Italia is seeking a Director, Data Engineer – Technical Leadership to guide Databricks-based data platform implementations for major client programs. You will own architecture, solution design, and delivery, engaging with C-level sponsors and engineering teams to deliver scalable, governance-driven pipelines.

You will stay current on Databricks capabilities, mentor engineers, and contribute to reusable accelerators and best practices while shaping how Merkle positions Databricks work for

Qualifications

• 8+ years building data platform implementations on cloud data warehouses with Databricks experience.
• Advanced SQL and Python; production-grade data pipelines with minimal oversight.
• Relational and lakehouse data modeling; Customer 360 and conformed models.
• Strong client-facing communication and multi-phase delivery leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex Databricks delivery programs on time and within budget.
• Architect, design, review, and implement data platforms with DA/BI teams.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to reusable reference architectures.
• Engage with C-suite stakeholders to articulate value and governance.
