Job summary

McKesson’s Data & Analytics organization seeks a Data Architect (Databricks) to define and scale our enterprise data platform strategy on Azure. This hands-on role will design platform strategy and actively contribute to implementation, partnering with engineering, analytics, governance, and business teams to deliver scalable data solutions for healthcare outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in data engineering and data architecture.
Proven experience building and scaling Databricks platforms on Azure, including workspace provisioning and governance.
Strong hands-on Databricks and Azure experience (ADLS Gen2, networking, identity, security).
Deep expertise in Delta Lake and data lifecycle management.
Experience designing enterprise data platforms in regulated environments (PHI/PII).
Knowledge of data governance, access controls, and compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end architecture for the Databricks-on-Azure lakehouse platform, including workspace design and governance.
Define and scale medallion architecture standards (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
Lead CI/CD and DevOps patterns for Databricks deployments, ensuring audit-ready pipelines.
Mentor engineers and architects; establish design reviews and documentation practices.
Partner with Data Governance, Security, SRE, and Legal teams to align platform design with healthcare compliance requirements.
