Job summary

Openkyber is seeking an experienced Databricks Architect to lead enterprise Databricks Lakehouse initiatives in Vienna, VA. This hands-on role combines architecture, delivery, and customer-facing leadership to optimize data platforms.

You will design scalable solutions with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Spark, mentor engineering teams, and drive CI/CD and MLOps practices across deployments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or cloud data platforms.
• 3+ years hands-on Databricks experience with enterprise implementations.
• Strong Python, SQL, and PySpark skills.
• Experience with Azure Databricks, AWS Databricks or GCP Databricks.
• U.S. work authorization without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and delivery of enterprise Databricks Lakehouse implementations.
• Design scalable solutions using Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark, Unity Catalog, and Workflows.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for data engineering projects.
• Optimize Spark and Databricks workloads for performance and cost.
• Establish governance, security, and data management practices.
• Mentor engineering teams and advise stakeholders.
