Job summary

McKesson's Data & Analytics organization is seeking a Data Architect (Databricks) to define and scale an enterprise Databricks lakehouse platform on Azure. This hands-on role will both design platform strategy and actively contribute to implementation.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Analytics, Governance, and Legal to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable data solutions that support healthcare outcomes, while mentoring engineers and shaping standards.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in data engineering and data architecture.
Experience building and scaling Databricks platforms on Azure.
Hands-on Databricks and Azure expertise.
Deep Delta Lake expertise and data lifecycle management.
Experience in regulated environments (PHI/PII) and governance.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end architecture for the Databricks-on-Azure lakehouse platform.
Define and scale medallion architecture standards (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
Establish platform standards and reusable patterns to accelerate Databricks adoption.
Design secure data access frameworks (RBAC, ABAC, row/column security).
Lead CI/CD and DevOps patterns for Databricks deployments.
Optimize performance and cost across Delta Lake pipelines.
Build reusable ingestion frameworks for structured and streaming data.
Collaborate with Governance, Security, SRE, and Legal for compliance.
Mentor engineers and establish design reviews.
