Job summary

NTT DATA seeks a Databricks Architect to lead the design, governance, and modernization of our enterprise data platforms in Atlanta, GA. The role requires deep expertise in Databricks Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog, with a focus on secure, governed data sharing and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Data Architecture or enterprise data-platform delivery.
• 5+ years with Databricks and lakehouse architecture.
• 5+ years with Medallion Architecture, Delta Lake, Spark/PySpark, SQL.
• 5+ years with Unity Catalog and governance capabilities including cataloging, metadata, lineage, data classification, ownership, access governance, and audit controls.
• 5+ years in data-governance covering data quality, metadata, lineage, stewardship, policy enforcement, privacy, security, and compliance controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise Databricks Lakehouse architecture and patterns.
• Define target-state Databricks architecture across ingestion, transformation, storage, orchestration, analytics, streaming, data sharing, and consumption.
• Design and govern Delta Lake / Delta-based architectures, including data layout, performance optimization, schema evolution, and lifecycle.
• Own enterprise data-governance architecture with Unity Catalog for centralized cataloging, access control, lineage, and governed data sharing.
• Define data domains, catalogs, schemas, ownership models, classification standards, business metadata, technical metadata, and stewardship patterns.
• Establish fine-grained security and access-control patterns using RBAC/ABAC, IAM integration, least-privilege access, and auditability.
• Architect data-quality controls and observability with validation rules, metrics, lineage, and SLA/SLO reporting.
• Design high-performance batch and streaming pipelines; establish reusable frameworks and standards.
• Provide architecture for governed data exposure through APIs, Delta Sharing, semantic layers, and BI/ML consumers.
• Translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models; define modeling standards.
• Lead discovery, feasibility, architecture reviews, and solution alignment; mentor engineers and coordinate with vendors.
