Job summary

KellyMitchell Group is seeking a Database Security Subject-Matter Expert / Technical Lead for our client in Bethesda, MD. You will secure and monitor enterprise databases, conduct vulnerability assessments, and drive remediation strategies across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.

The role requires 5+ years in database security, hands-on experience with diverse database technologies, and strong ability to develop policies while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in database security, database administration, or information security.
• 3+ years of experience securing diverse database platforms in enterprise environments.
• Experience managing 1,000+ production databases in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Secure and monitor enterprise database systems including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and other common database platforms
• Operate web and database vulnerability assessment tools, analyze results, and implement remediation strategies
• Manage large-scale production databases, ensuring secure configuration, patching, and access controls
• Integrate database security solutions with SIEM platforms: Splunk, to monitor and alert on security events
• Develop and maintain database security policies, procedures, and documentation
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and remediation planning for database environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement enterprise-wide database security standards
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on secure database administration practices
• Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks and industry best practices for database security

The approximate pay range for this position is between $95.00 and $125.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
