Job summary

Soni is seeking a Database Platform Engineer to manage enterprise SQL Server environments across on-premises and Azure, ensuring availability, security, backup/recovery, and compliance while partnering with infrastructure, application, and data teams.

You will administer SQL Server across production, development, test and DR, tune performance, implement backup strategies, enforce security and SOX controls, and support fabric-enabled workloads with documentation and change management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent.
Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise environments.
Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
Strong performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, and HA.
Experience supporting mission-critical systems.
SQL certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across production, development, test, and disaster recovery environments.
Monitor database health, performance, and availability; perform tuning, patching, and upgrades.
Design and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Manage database security, access controls, and support SOX/IT audit compliance.
Optimize query performance, indexing, and overall database scalability.
Support application upgrades, migrations, integrations, and reporting solutions.
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, and analytics teams, including support for the Microsoft Fabric environment.
Maintain documentation and execute changes through established change management processes.
