Job description

MissionHires, on behalf of a well-established mechanical contracting firm (40+ years, hospitals/data centers/high-rise projects), is seeking a BIM / CAD-MEP Database Manager to own and evolve the systems, databases, scripts, and software workflows that power mechanical fabrication modeling, coordination, automation, and reporting. This role partners closely with VDC, project management, fabrication, and field teams to translate real‑world needs into robust BIM/CAD‑MEP tools, Dynamo automations, Power BI dashboards, and Autodesk Construction Cloud workflows. This is a systems and automation position—not a production detailing seat—in a collaborative, growth‑focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, document, analyze, test, and modify CAD-MEP and Revit data systems, including fabrication databases, Revit family libraries, content standards, and data exchange workflows
  • Build, test, and maintain Dynamo scripts and automation tools for QA/QC, model data management, coordination checks, reporting, and workflow cleanup
  • Create prototypes, templates, scripts, and standardized workflows that improve model‑to‑fabrication alignment and enhance data usability
  • Diagnose database, model, and workflow issues; identify root causes; and implement changes to systems, scripts, content, or procedures to prevent recurrence
  • Develop, test, and maintain Power BI data models, dashboards, and reports to convert BIM and fabrication data into actionable project and production insights
  • Configure and support Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) coordination, document structure, permissions, and model/data processes
  • Maintain technical documentation for systems, scripts, data standards, naming conventions, version control, and user procedures
  • Coordinate with internal IT, software vendors, and operations teams on integrations, APIs, upgrades, data migration, and system performance
  • Review BIM and fabrication systems for accuracy, consistency, and usability; recommend and implement improvements based on user feedback and project needs
  • Collaborate with VDC, project management, fabrication, and field users to gather requirements and define functional specs for BIM, CAD-MEP, Revit, ACC, automation, and reporting workflows
Requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (no sponsorship available)
  • 5+ years of experience in BIM/VDC, mechanical construction technology, CAD-MEP/Revit database management, or related computer systems role
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit and Autodesk Fabrication tools, including Fabrication CADmep, CAMduct, and ESTmep
  • 3+ years translating user requirements into software, database, automation, and reporting specifications
  • 3+ years designing, building, testing, and maintaining Dynamo scripts or comparable automation tools
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud and Power BI
  • Understanding of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fabrication workflows to ensure systems fit real project and shop needs
  • Proven ability to write clear technical documentation and support users with minimal direction
  • Familiarity with APIs, data connectors, or advanced automation tools preferred
Benefits
  • Competitive salary based on experience.

  • Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement.

  • 401(k) with company match.

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Paid time off and paid holidays.

  • Referral program and growth opportunities.

  • Path for advancement into different VDC role
